Miguel Poveda concert in Teatro Cervantes took place on 12th July 2010 as a part of TERRAL summer festival 2010. Miguel Angel Poveda Leon born near Barcelona on February 13, 1973 is a famous Spanish flamenco singer, known by the stage name of Miguel Poveda. He performs the more orthodox styles of flamenco. Miguel Poveda’s career has not ceased to develop and dazzle since he won the Lámpara Minera award in 1993. The cantaor shows an unusual interest in opening up flamenco to other audiences through his constant experimentation, combining his art without reservations with other genres such as cinema (B. Luna’s The Tit and the Moon , C. Saura’s Fados, P. Almodóvar’s Broken Embraces…), theatre (C. Bieito’s version of Life is a Dream) and collaborations with artists of all kinds. This relationship with other creative spheres, his quality and versatility earned him the National Music Award in 2007 as best performer. He is now revising his musical career and presents Coplas del querer, Latin Grammy to the best flamenco record in 2009, where the cantaor revises classic coplas with modern arrangements.

British artist Gavin Turk is staging his exhibition ‘En Face’ at the Center of Contemporary Art in Malaga, Spain between  25 June to 12 September 2010 and looks at issues of authorship, authenticity and identity. The exhibition consists of a group of 72 clay busts resulting from an interactive performance in which a group of participants manipulated the still wet clay. TRACEY EMIN “20 YEARS” is a retrospective, which looks at the full range of Emin’s work, from the rarely seen early work to the iconic “My Bed”, 1998 and the room-sized installation “Exorcism of the Last Painting I Ever Made” 1996. It includes a fabulous range of appliquéd blankets, paintings, sculptures, films, neons, drawings and prints, to provide the most complete view of Eminís work ever mounted. Tracey Emin is “Britainís best known but least understood artists”, an international figure, recognised with a show at last year’s Venice Biennale and sought after for photo-shoots, celebrity features and comments on the arts.

Tracey Emin rtrospective in Malaga is the second exhibition worldwide. First time it was held at the the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh between August and November 2008 attracting over 40,000 visitors and breaking’s record for an exhibition of work by a living artist. This traveling exhibition will move from Malaga to to the Kunstmuseum in Bern and Switzerland in 2009.

Once again, Chick Corea and John McLaughlin get together along with some of the best musicians in modern jazz in their new musical project, the Five Peace band. This is the first time Grammy Award winning pianist-composer-bandleader Chick Corea and guitarist John McLaughlin have joined forces since they were members of Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew era band over forty years ago.

Playing music from then and now, with Kenny Garrett, Christian McBride and Vinne Colaiuta, the Chick Corea & John McLaughlin Five Peace Band is poised to elevate new audiences with series of legendary concerts.

With illustrious musical careers dating back over more than four decades, Chick Corea and John McLaughlin created explosive live bands melding rock with jazz, Return To Forever and the Mahavishnu Orchestra, two of the most popular instrumental groups of all time. Their music went far beyond the ordinary, fusing energy, spirituality, emotion, with improvisation and hard rock. These groups inspired a new generation to expand their own musical horizon.

His struggles while in Cuba and since his defection have given him more energy and strength, urging him to accomplish and surpass his childhood dreams. Filled with a virtuoso capability, he desires nothing more than to share his gift with others who feel the same intense adoration for music as he does. One frequently speaks of Arturo Sandoval’s virtuoso technical ability or his specialty in high notes, but he who has seen him on the piano, lyrically improvising a ballad, or has had the opportunity to enjoy the diversity of his music, through his compositions from the most straight ahead jazz, Latin jazz or classical, knows that Arturo Sandoval is a prominent musician, and one recognizes that Arturo is one of the most brilliant and proliferous musicians of our time.

Arturo Sandoval has become a protectorate of his idol, Dizzy Gillespie, with whom he has played in countless occasions, sharing the stage with Stan Getz, Billy Cobham, Herbie Hancock, along with other artists like Celine Dion, Tony Bennet, Paul Anka, Rod Steward and Frank Sinatra. He composed the soundtracks for For love or country, inspired by his own life, and Emmy-winner Los reyes del mambo and La familia Pérez.
His prodigious technique, innate jazz sense and super-human resistance work together to produce extroverted and aggressive solos in extremely high registers, all while staying in perfect control of his instrument, with clear articulation, even with rapid tempos. The fact is, Sandoval is just an exceptional pianist.
