F1, Malaysian GP video highlights – Alonso could have won

Fernando Alonso believes he could have won in the Malaysian Grand Prix had it not been for the wing damage that forced him out.
At the second corner on the opening lap, Alonso had damaged the wing when he lightly touched the car of Sebastian Vettel’s Red Bull. Despite the damaged wing Alonso hung on to second place all the way around the first lap. The Ferrari team decided, therefore, that he could wait to change the damaged wing and exit to the mechanics a few laps later. However, the wing fell off completely after the start of the second lap, robbing him of control, and he went straight on into the gravel trap – see highlights on video,

In the absence of Alonso, Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull-Renault) won the race of the Malaysian Grand Prix. The second at Sepang International Circuit was his team-mate, Australian Mark Weber and the third was Hamilton.
