Malaga celebrates the work of it's most famous son Pablo Ruiz Picasso. There is the Picasso Museum hosting an intensely personal and biographical collection. A few minutes from the museum is the popular Plaza de la Merced, site of the Casa Natal de Picasso (the artist's birthplace), home to the Picasso Foundation, a centre for research and an exhibitions of the artist's work. Just opposite the the Foundation there is a Picasso sculpture, which has  turned into an icon of Malaga attracting both the tourists and locals who love to get close to Picasso, take a photo and make a unique souvenir.
