THE SHAME / La Vergüenza, Festival de Malaga 2009

The Shame takes place over the course of a single morning. The morning in which Pepe and Lucia, a modern and well-to-do thirty-something year old couple, have decided to tell Jimena, the social worker, that life with Manu is very hard. They cannot handle their eight-year-old adopted Peruvian son and the last six months with him have turned their lives into a living hell. And they want to give him back. But a decision of this magnitude cannot be made just like that. A decision like this one has serious consequences.

La vergüenza transcurre en una mañana. La mañana en que Pepe y  Lucía, una pareja de treintañeros modernos y acomodados, han decidido comunicar a Jimena, la trabajadora social, que la vida con Manu es muy difícil; que no se hacen con su hijo peruano adoptado de ocho años; que los seis meses que llevan con él se han acabado convirtiendo en un infierno; Y que quieren devolverlo. Pero una decisión de este calibre no se toma así como así. Una decisión así pasa factura.
