THE FISH CHILD / El Niño Pez, Festival de Malaga 2009

Lala, a teenager from the most exclusive suburban neighborhood in Argentina is in love with the Guayi, the 20 year old Payaguayan maid working at her place. They dream of living together in Paraguay, at the shores of lake Yaopa. The murder of Lala's father rushes their plans.
This is the starting point that spurs the escape through the highway that connects the North of Buenos Aires with Paraguay. While Lala waits to be reunited with her lover in Ypoa, by reconstructing her past (the mystery surrounding her pregnancy and the legend of a fish child who guides the drowned to the bottom of the lake), the Guayi is detained in a minors institute. She turns out to be hiding a crime from long ago.

Lala, una adolescente que vive en el barrio más exclusivo de Buenos Aires, está enamorada de la Guayi, la mucama paraguaya de 20 años que trabaja en su casa. Sueñan con irse a vivir juntas a Paraguay, a orillas del lago Ypoá. El asesinato del padre de Lala apura sus planes.
Este es el punto de partida que apura la huída en la ruta que une el norte de Buenos Aires con Paraguay. Mientras Lala espera a su amante en Ypoá, reconstruyendo su pasado (el misterio de su embarazo y la leyenda de un niño pez que guía a los ahogados hasta el fondo del lago), la Guayi es detenida en un instituto de menores. Ella también esconde un crimen en su pasado.
